Our Mission
Kids Lives Matter is dedicated to mentoring at-risk teens and young adults who face the dangers of gang recruitment and human trafficking. We believe every young person deserves a safe, supportive environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive.
Through hands-on mentorship, intervention programs, and community partnerships, we provide the guidance and resources needed to redirect lives toward hope, purpose, and a brighter future.

2009
Founded with a Vision
Kids Lives Matter was founded by Kevin Johnson with a mission to protect youth from gang involvement and human trafficking in underserved communities.
2013
Growing the Movement
Expanded mentorship programs across multiple communities, reaching hundreds of at-risk teens and families with direct support and intervention.
2018
Recognized Impact
Received community recognition for redirecting over 1,000 young lives and establishing partnerships with local schools and law enforcement.
2024
Scaling Our Reach
Operating in 85+ communities with 2,500+ youth mentored, continuing to expand anti-trafficking and gang-exit programs nationwide.

Kevin Johnson
Founder & Executive Director
A passionate community leader and lifelong advocate for youth safety. Kevin founded Kids Lives Matter to bridge the gap between at-risk teens and the resources they need to escape gang influence and trafficking.
Vicki Ann Gonyon-Johnson
Co-Founder & Program Director
With decades of experience in social services and family counseling, Vicki Ann brings heart and strategy to every program. She leads outreach efforts and ensures every family receives compassionate, effective support.
